Tennis settlement policy
How a tennis match that ends in a retirement or a walkover is settled on QuantLine's Product record. Published so the rule can be read before it is applied, not only after.

These are four separate events and may fall on different days. A policy is approved before it is published, published before it takes effect in production, and the records it reaches settle on the first settlement run at or after the effective date, which is not necessarily the same day.
2The policy
A retirement means play started and a player stopped. A walkover means no play at all. They are treated as different events and never interchangeably.
Set handicap - retirement
Void, whatever the score was when play stopped. This does not depend on how much of the match had been played.
Set handicap - walkover
Void.
Match winner - walkover
Void. No ball was struck, so there is nothing to settle on.
Match winner - retirement
Settled on the player who advanced, once at least one set has been completed. If no set has been completed, void.
Where the evidence needed to establish how many sets were completed cannot be read, the record is left unsettled rather than resolved either way. This applies only to match-winner retirement grading; the three rules above are unconditional and do not depend on that evidence.
3What this policy governs
This policy governs QuantLine's own Product record and nothing else. A position you track against your own bookmaker settles under that bookmaker's rules, which may differ from the rules above. QuantLine does not apply its own settlement policy to a position held at another book.
4Transition note
Three Product record entries, dated 16 August 2026, 18 August 2026, 23 August 2026, were published before this policy existed and were deliberately held unresolved until it was adopted. They were settled under v1.0 on 11 September 2026. This means a rule adopted after those matches took place determines their result.
No record settled before the effective date is reopened or changed. This is a transition disclosure, not a correction: no previously published result changes.
